Common questions
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests scan the QR code or open the link in Safari or Chrome, type a first name, and start filming. Hosts can use the Partytape app or the web dashboard.
The camera won’t open on the guest page.
Allow camera and microphone access when the browser asks. On iPhone: Settings → Safari → Camera and Microphone → Ask or Allow. If you blocked it, you can still record with your phone’s camera and upload from the page.
I lost signal while uploading. Is my video gone?
No. Uploads are saved on your phone first and resume automatically. Keep the page open, or come back to the same link later on the same phone and browser.
How do I delete something I uploaded?
Open the event link again and tap the saved counter to see “Your moments”, then tap the trash icon next to the item. Hosts can delete any item from their event.
When does the film arrive?
Processing starts when filming ends. Most films are ready by the next morning; hosts get a push notification and an email.
How do personal reels and face matching work?
If the host turned on guest reels, you can add a selfie with separate consent. We use it only to find you in that event’s footage, then delete your face data once reels are sent. See the biometric notice.
How do I cancel Host Pass or get a receipt?
Go to Account and choose “Receipts and billing”. Cancelling keeps Host Pass active until the end of the paid year.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Account → Delete account, or on the web visit Account. This deletes your events, uploads, films and reels and cancels Host Pass.
Someone uploaded footage of me that I want removed.
Ask the host, who can delete it right away, or use the Report button in the gallery. You can also email us with the event link and we will act on it.
Report a safety concern
If you see content that is explicit, exploits a minor or puts someone at risk, use Report in the gallery or email support@partytape.app with “Safety” in the subject. We prioritise these reports.
